The manufacturer's label from Boisseau, a paper merchant in Paris, is still present!
The inside of the wallet is annotated in ink with a list of names and their birth dates. These are the children of the owner, who belonged to a noble family from Deux-Sèvres from the second half of the 18th century. There is a tear on one gusset (see photo) and part of the clasp has been re-stitched. This is an old repair.
